Can self-talk affect a person's mindset?

Yes, it does change the mindset in 2 different ways

It could either be a positive mindset or a negative mindset.

"What you speak is what you become"

Those habits are:

1) Comparision

This habit decreases self-confidence

2) Taking failure personally

3) Talking with negative people

There's a fact which is the closer you get with a person the more you become like them.
